Welcome to the AIA South Carolina Design & Chapter Awards website.

The purpose of the Design Awards program is to encourage and recognize distinguished architectural achievement; to honor the architectural team, their clients and consultants who work together to improve the built environment; to demonstrate the breadth of services architects provide; and to raise public awareness of the Architect’s role in shaping the quality of life through design excellence.

The purpose of the Chapter Awards program is to encourage and recognize the work of members and non-members in promoting the role of architects in service to society and the profession, and engaging the community to raise public awareness and demand for design excellence in South Carolina.

Framework for Design Excellence Submission Criteria for Professional Projects - OPTIONAL

In response to AIA’s commitment to climate action, AIA South Carolina has expanded our design awards program to include sustainability measures from the AIA COTE Top 10 Toolkit - now the Framework for Design Excellence. For professional projects only, we've added optional questions on 6 of the 10 measures - Designing for Integration, Designing for Energy, Designing for Equitable Communities, Designing for Water, Designing for Resources, and Designing for Change - to the submission form. Firms are encouraged to highlight any features of their projects that meet any or all of these 6 measures as applicable. The jury may, at their discretion, confer special citations to projects who meet any of these measures.

2022 AIASC DESIGN & CHAPTER AWARDS DATES & FEES

SCHEDULE
August 1, 2022 Awards portal opens at https://aiascawards.secure-platform.com/a
August 29, 2022 Deadline for early bird discounted entry fees.
September 30, 2022 Submissions must be completed no later than 11:59 p.m. ET

DESIGN AWARDS FEES
New Construction, Robert Mills Residential Awards, Interior Architecture, and Adaptive Reuse/Historic Preservation:
$150 per submission until August 29 ($195 after August 29)

Unbuilt Project Award:
$100 per submission until August 29 ($125 after August 29)

Student Award:
No registration fee

CHAPTER AWARDS FEES
Associate Award:
$50 per submission until August 29 ($65 after August 29)

Firm Award:
$300 per submission until August 29 ($350 after August 29)

Medal of Distinction
No registration fee

Social Justice Award
No registration fee

Patron Award
No registration fee

Community Collaboration Award
No registration fee

REFUND POLICY
No refunds will be issued for Design Awards or Chapter Awards submission fees.
